How to welcome more ease and flow into Creating content.

So guys… I have set myself the goal to write a blog post every day for the next seven days. Why? Because I wanted to welcome more ease and flow into my own content creation - so for day #1, I thought that it would be super fitting to share my tips on how to create more ease and flow in your content creation process.

I know many of you fall into the trap of thinking that content creation is hard work and that it takes time - But that simply doesn’t have to be the case.

You can think that content creation is hard but it really doesn’t have to be - you can make it easy, it can flow and at the end of the day you can make content from simply being you!

How to welcome more ease and flow into Creating content.

Firstly, if you are finding content creation hard and you are always stuck for something to write about, speak about or deliver then I want to ask yourself these questions:

Do I really love the topic or area that I am trying to speak, write or deliver on? AND, is there something I would rather be sharing with the world?

I am not getting you to ask yourself this because I want to instill doubt in you, but because I know from my own journey that 'ease' and 'flow' in all areas of my business came so much more frequently when I tuned into what REALLY wanted to talk about.

If you are finding content creation hard - tune into your heart and create what you are being called to create.

When you are obsessed with what you do, creating content becomes easy! There is no questioning - what content should I be creating? And instead, you begin asking yourself - what content do I WANT to create?

You know that it is so much easier to do something that you WANT to do, rather than what you feel like you HAVE to do.

Also, when your content comes from your heart and a place of passion - it is a whole load more compelling for your audience and customers - they can tell that you are totally digging what you have to say! And I don’t know about you, but I freaking love buying from people who are crazy about what they do!

Create the content when you get the idea.

My next tip is to create the content when you get the idea - when the inspiration hits. That’s when it is going to be easiest to create the piece of content because you can ride that wave of inspiration. Have you ever had an amazing content idea and rather going full force into creation mode you simply wrote the idea down and revisited it later. Then when you came back to it, you wondered to yourself how you thought it was a good idea. Or maybe you just lost the really powerful message that was going to accompany that piece of content. Anyway, you made creating that piece of content so much harder than it needed to be.

Your ideas deserve your energy.

Okay, so let’s talk a little bit more about what happens when you DON’T create the content in that moment of inspiration…

When we don’t put energy into our ideas as the inspiration comes - the energy leaves us. That energy is what makes it easy to create. Instead, you find yourself wondering where on earth did that inspiration go? To someone else honey! I'm sure you have experienced this before. You had an amazing idea for a blog post, live or program, you pop it on your to-do list - the inspiration leaves you and you forget about it. Then in a month, you hop on Instagram and see someone who has written that exact blog post, or created that exact program! Not only that, People are fucking loving it! Damn!

When we don’t put energy into ideas as we have them, the disappear and someone else will be called to create that epic piece of content.

That idea came to you because the universe thought that you’d do a good job creating something that the world needs. Not only that, it knew that it was in alignment with your message and if you created it, it would help you progress towards your goals! But the universe isn’t going to wait around for you to get around to it.

Your ideas are no accident!

Let go of the content calendar + break the rules.

Well not fully… I still love my content calendar, but I like to use it pretty loosely. Here is why:

When I keep a super strict content calendar, I don’t allow myself to flow in my content creation process. I like to have the freedom to put my content out when the inspiration hits. I have also found that my content performs best when it’s put into the world when that feeling of inspiration is still fresh.

That ideas you’ve had didn't pop into your idea for no fucking reason. No. they come for a reason. The world needs to hear what you have to say as soon as possible. The idea didn't pop into your head so that it could be scheduled for later. No. It popped into your head at that very moment because the Universe knows how long it’s going to take you to create it. The Universe knows how long it’s going to take for you to write that blog post, edit it and put it into the world. And so the inspiration comes at the perfect moment

If I were to plan out what blog posts I was going to write in a weeks time, I probably wouldn’t feel like writing them. I'd struggle to muster up the inspiration to write.

If you are the same, why not just create what you feel inspired to create and trust that it’s exactly what your audience needs?

Give consuming a break for just a minute!

When we are consuming a load of people’s content, especially those in our own industry, you can really interrupt your own personal zone of genius.

You know what I mean, right? You get those thoughts, like:

“Well she is speaking about this, I need to speak about that too.” ”She is making so many sales from her lives - I need to go live too.”

Just because someone else’s content style is working for them, doesn’t mean that it is going to work for you. IN FACT, it’s probably NOT going to work for you!

Don’t your incredible message get interrupted by other peoples messages, If you find yourself getting distracted by what other people are putting out to the world - it’s time to take a break.

Here is how I do it:

Most of my content creation happens in the morning - that is simply when I feel most connected to my zone of genius. So in the mornings, I prefer to sit down to write before I go and look at social media and what other people in my industry are up to.

This gives me the space to come up with my own ideas and for me not to get affected by other people’s content creation styles.

When I don't give myself that space, content creation becomes more difficult and I generally spend so much more time on it. Why? Because I have other people’s content fresh in my mind and I can’t help but compare my content to theirs.

Ditch the idea that your content has to be perfect.

Stop letting the need for things to be perfect, stop you from putting your genius out there.

Your content can be flawed, you can go off on tangents, you can make mistakes - I give you permission.

It doesn’t have to be perfect and in fact, I personally think that flawed content is way WAY more compelling. When you try to perfect your content, you end up editing yourself out of it - who wants to that? Not you!

During my lives on Instagram, I go off on tangents and I find it really had to stay on topic. That’s who I am and it is actually the thing that makes my lives entertaining. I would never want to give my audience the impression that my communication is super streamlined and logical because that is not me!

When people try to perfect their content too much they actually are editing themselves out of their content and you tell me... what on this fucking earth would you want to edit yourself out of your content.

You get to attract customers by being who YOU are!

It takes so much more effort to try to be an edited version a tossed over version of yourself during face to face client calls or Instagram lives stories or tv! That’s exhausting and boring if you ask me.

I will tell you this now. You are way more charming, compelling and attractive to your ideal customers when you are being yourself. Yes. you are going to be more polarising and you may alienate some people, but you will also strengthen the connection you have with some of your audience.

Stop worrying about alienating people. - it’s a good thing!

Would you rather speak to a huge stadium of people you don’t know, or go to dinner with a small group of people who totally get you?

Just fucking create.

When we are wanting to up our content creation game. It’s easy to get caught up in all the tips and strategy but at the end of the day, all it takes is for you to get out of your own way and just fucking create. As with any new habit - we are actually forming new neural pathways, the more we do the thing, the more we walk that pathway, the easier it gets.

If you want writing blog posts to get easier - write more blog posts.

If you want going live to get easier - go live more frequently.

If you want to get better at being on camera - film more videos.

Happy content creation!

Big Love
